KEY EXPERIENCE:

Project Management for small to medium sized projects. Including presentations to senior client Managers, overseeing technical development of the Projects, Contract Management of various cross discipline sub-contractors and cost controls.

Site supervision for greenfield construction sites, existing Plant upgrade construction sites and day to day supervision of maintenance contractors.

 Extensive experience in Automation and Control System design, development, configuration, improvement and fault finding in a variety of different industries. This includes integration of field devices, PLC’s, SCADA systems, networks and relational databases. All systems were required to be designed with long term maintenance as a prime objective.

 Extensive experience in Project Management of IT infrastructure Projects covering all aspects of the implementations. This includes, Desktops, Notebooks, LAN and WAN Networking, Servers, Security and Disaster Recovery.

 Experience in a maintenance environment managing day to day activities to ensure the availability of electrical equipment on a 24/7 basis. Work included maintenance task assignments, arranging rotating rosters, covering overtime shifts, breakdown emergencies and reporting to senior management. Also the development of Projects to improve Plant availability and efficiency.

 Work in development of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Including roll-outs, training for site personnel and ongoing system enhancements.

 Extensive Steel Industry process experience for both integrated Steelworks and Mini Mill Environments, covering all electrical aspects including high voltage power distribution, AC motor drives, materials handling and conveying systems, radio and microwave telemetry systems, PLC control systems, and Operator Interface systems and Automation.

 

Control system networking experience, including long copper connections, fibre optic modem integration and telemetry (radio and microwave) systems.

Coal industry process experience for underground and open cut mines and also Coal Preparation Plants. This work covered all aspects of interfacing remote high voltage substation control and monitoring via telemetry systems, overburden removal Shovels, control and telemetry interfacing, various mine specific machinery into an overall control system architecture.

Experience in working in intrinsically safe environments and with laser systems.

Process enhancements for additional functionality to improve Plant output and efficiency using both traditional SPC tools and process / technology knowledge.

Food and Water Management industry process experience covering the requirements for upgrade/expansion/interface paths ensuring no unscheduled downtime.

Computer server, desktop and networking installation, support, upgrades and faultfinding.

Spectrum of work extends from investigation studies to costing, design, purchase and procurement of equipment, specification, user requirement specification, contract writing and management, administration and commissioning.

Ability to work as part of a team, as a team leader, or under own supervision.

 Excellent understanding of technologies and processes coupled with good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

 Supervisory roles overseeing specification and software development, writing and implementation on small to large projects.

 Extensive experience using Computer Aided Drafting systems including drafting and setting of standards.
